100th patient cared for

Our Hospice at Home team recently helped care for their 100th patient in the Corby area, demand for this service has been double what we initially expected when it was first launched in September 2010.

Now in its third year, our Hospice at Home service has proved to be a much needed service by the local community and one which continues to be well received by the families that we help.

The nurses provide welcome extra care and support for patients and their families during what is a very difficult time.

hospice at home nurses“Our nurses are not going into people’s homes to take over from the family if the families want to continue to care for their relative. We are there to ensure the patient’s symptoms are well controlled, giving immediate relief overnight as required, while also helping and supporting the family during a very difficult time. We are always directed by the patient and family.”

We are able to provide this service free to families in their hour of need thanks to your kind generosity and continued support.

Our forthcoming light up a life services are for everyone in the community who is bereaved, not just those who have been cared for by Lakelands Hospice. They are a chance to celebrate the life of someone whom we love but who are no longer with us.
