Singing for Lakelands Spring Edition

Classical Reflections on stage with Vicki and Charlie

The third Singing for Lakelands event ran without a hitch on Sunday 19th April and raised a fantastic £1,050!

Vicki-Louise Sherwin ran the first Singing for lakelands event back in October 2014, which was attended by none other than our patron, Mr brendan Coyle. Brendan challenged Vicki to keep up the good work, and so the events have continued and Vicki-Louise has recruited another young, talented classical singer to help her - 14 year old Charlie Botting.

The two of them have set themselves the fundriasing target of £10,000 by the end of the year - and with the three events run so far, they are up to a stunning £4,500 already!

The concert on Sunday 19th April was a sell-out event, the hall at the Best Western Hotel completely full and not one member of the audience was disappointed with the brilliant performances from all of the acts, choirs, duets and soloists. Classical Reflections, twins who sang on BBC One's The Voice - and got through to the knock-out stages! - came along to perform, along with Finlay O'Connor, Rushton Primary School and the Central Co-op Corby Choir. Each sang individual pieces and then they all came together for a finale as one choir.

We cannot wait to see what this talented pair achieve for Lakleands next, and wish them all the best with their next fundraising extravanagza!
